Joe Johnson Named to All Star Team

Bookmark

Hawks F/G Joe Johnson ("JJ") was named to his third-straight All-Star team, again as a reserve. He'll back up little-known guys like LeBron James and Allen Iverson. This ain't like baseball or hockey where each team automatically gets an All-Star representative, so this is a big deal that the Hawks' best player has been given the honor three straight years. Be proud, Hawks fans! Now let's we can win a game before All-Star weekend.... eek.

Jameer Nelson? Really? I know Mike is in a brutal shooting slump right now but would anybody really rather have Jameer Nelson as their point guard than Bibby? Or Rondo, for that matter? Nelson is having a good year, granted, but if he's not on the Magic, there's no way he gets an allstar spot. I'm not saying Bibby should've been on the team, I'm just saying he's a better point guard than Jameer Nelson. Really, the biggest snub is Ray Allen, but I guess they wanted another true point guard on the bench instead of another shooting guard.

i'll take bibby over nelson for sure. and you could throw mo williams' name in there too, but lemme just say... if all i had to do all game was toss alleyoops to howard or let lebron bring the ball up half the time, i'd look good too. bibby takes over games and runs the show for an up and down team who's best player can run hot and cold. bibby vs. rondo though? tough call. all i know is rondo is one lucky bastard to have all that talent thrown at him in his second year.. but hey, i did go see the dawgs beat him while he was at kentucky! take that wildcats!
