Oliver Perez, Randy Wolf, and Ian Snell ... Oh My?

Bookmark
Without Burnett what could be next for Wren and his search for good pitching? Well Mark Bowman is reporting that Oliver Perez, Randy Wolf, and Ian Snell seem to be in the picture. That's a former Met, Phillie, and a current Pirate. Of those three names, I got to say Snell excites me most. Every time we face him, he opens my eyes. He doesn't seem to be big or overpowering, but he goes out and throws great pitches for a very bad team. You add Snell with Jurjjens, we have the makings of a very strong young core to our recent aging staff. But I bet it would take some of the names formerly offered to Peavy.

As rumors go and come, the fact remains that the Braves need pitching. Wren has to start moving with or without Peavy. If we can get Snell we should, even if it means messing up the original trade offers with Peavy. The Padres are playing this like spoiled little girls, everyone knows Peavy gots to go, but the Padres think that we will sit on our hands and pine over them while they play hard to get. It's time to move on, that ship seems to have left port for now and our needs are present, because other teams have the same needs as us. Wren needs to be aggressive. It's time for less rumors and more truths. Less crying over Burnett and the big bad Yankees and more resilience in the push for Snell, Lowe or Sheets and even maybe Wolf. Let's get going before someone else does.
