Michael Phelps Can take a Hit

Bookmark
Michael is in the news again, only this time, it's neither for his dramatic finish, nor for his 14 gold medals. This time, it's bad news. Phelps was at a party and this picture was taken of him smoking marijuana. I bet he regrets this. Until now, this golden boy was making an estimated 10 million dollars a year. Now who knows, hopefully he didn't waste all of his money on illegal drugs and strippers.

another great moment in the everlasting relationship between weed and sports!

lets not forget the good times when Dallas Mavericks F Josh Howard admitted he smokes it during the offseason, or when Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams chose smoking weed over playing professional football, or that time when Barry Bonds smoked too much and crashed his helicopter into the cove behind the baseball stadium... we all know that happened.

cheers to mr. phelps! cause lord knows he has nothing left to prove now that we know he's cool

I don't see where it's going to change anything to my life. I've deceided not to smoke drugs a long time ago, and Michael Phelps ain't going to change that decision.

People afraid kids out there are going to immitate him are wrong. It's not like he's a row model or something.

im sure theres plenty of young kids and swimmers out there who want nothing more out of their life than to become michael phelps, so this is probably hard for their parents to deal with..

I'm sorry, can we talk about the possibility of Bob Knight coaching Georgia basketball a little bit more? My God, this is exciting. Damon Evans, do what you have to do. Holy shit. Please, please come to Georgia, Bob Knight.

The other thing is that it would pretty much end Georgia Tech basketball. I mean Georgia Tech basketball is completely in the toilet as it is (Saturday's win over Wake not withstanding), but if Georgia got Bob Knight, we would get all of the the in-state talent. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!

Hey I think Phelps is from my area, the Daytona Beach, Florida (Central Florida Area). Although I hate to hear these things about him I just hope it's not all true and if it is. Damn I'm sure we all have done something we end up regretting.

Sure Phelps is being paid millions to be a role model to kids, but this incident is blown out of proportion and is just a college guy acting his age.

I'm with Cory J. More discussion needs to go towards the pros and cons of Bob Knight coming to UGA. Besides, the Phelps story doesn't pass my litmus test: is it a) dirty b) southern c) sporty? Two out of three doesn't qualify.
