It appears that the Arena Football League is set to cancel their 2009 season, due to various financial difficulties (shocker) spawned by the recession. The league had been delaying the release of the 09 schedule, as well as pushing back the draft and beginning of free agency. Though still a rumor, many AFL owners are citing that its near-probable that the 09 season will be canceled while the league works on a new financial plan to keep it afloat.The Georgia Force are the reigning Southern Division champs, their third division title in the past four years. In 2005 the Force played in Arena Bowl XIX, losing 51-48 to the Colorado Crush.

Woody Paige calls it, "PingPong Football." I will never watch but it was reassuring to know it was out there.
